Depeche Mode Ishikawa Koseinenkin Hall, Kanazawa, Japan 1990-09-08 World Violation tour Incomplete audience recording Lineage: unknown taper and equipment -> ... -> cassette (TDK SF-100) -> Yamaha K-340 tape deck (no noise reduction setting) -> RCA -> ASUS Xonar DX -> Adobe Audition CS6 (32-bit / 192 khz) -> normalized to -3.0dB, DC bias removed, noise reduction (50% 8dB), automatic phase correction (auto align channels, auto center panning, all settings set to most accurate possible), notch filter (15220Hz for entire recording, 15100Hz for Stripped and forward, -30.0dB and -20.0dB gain respectively; notch width narrow, ultra quiet) -> WAV (32/192) -> tracks split via cuesheet to FLAC level 8 (24/48 using SoX Resampler plugin) Generation: 2nd gen Transfer: ligushka Cassette tape photos included A very good audience recording. "Black Celebration" and "A Question Of Time" are missing entirely, most likely due to time constraints of the 100 minute tape. "Policy Of Truth" has a missing segment. This recording almost purely mono up until mid-way through "Policy Of Truth" for some reason, which explains the approximately halved bitrate compared to the stereo tracks (although, the entire second side of the tape, beginning with "Clean", has double the bitrate despite having some mono tracks - don't know how to explain that one). I copied and pasted the left channel over the right, through 1:06:58.801 (which is the missing segment of POT, just before stereo begins). There was a constant ringing noise throughout the recording which I was able to almost completely remove with the notch filters. This is an upgrade to the commonly circulating lossless version. This transfer is significantly clearer and less muffled, and has significantly better frequency response, less noise, and a better known generation. Many thanks to darkdevoted for generously shipping me this cassette. Shared by ligushka on DIME February 26, 2013. Track list: 01. [3:40] Kaleid 02. [5:18] World In My Eyes 03. [4:42] Halo 04.
